I would like to ask your assistance in spreading the word about a great
tool to help employees manage their time off and be better prepared to know
when they may be called to work. As you know employees have the ability to use
the AVR to listen to board standings and train line-ups or the web to view the
same information. Pro-active Notification has been developed to alert
employees, by the method, and the parameters they choose. This may relieve
employees from calling the AVR or viewing the web to get information and
hopefully give them some freedom and better information as they move up the
board.
To set up, employees can go to the TE & Y web portal under the off duty
section and choose the CMI AVR Preselect, which is the same location that they
can Add/Modify their AVR profile. The employees can then work through the four
step process to set-up their home and away-from-home terminal parameters. At
the end of the fourth step the employees will be able to send a test message
to make sure the system will work with their phone or pager.
Attached is the help text, which is also available on the TE & Y web
portal, so you can see all the features available under Pro-active
Notification. I ask you share this with your Local Chairman and also make
available on your respective General Committee web pages. To date we have 1665
employees signed up. A total of 16,070 messages (Email - 3629, SMS - 12441)
have been sent to the employees.
We used 18 TE & Y employees from around the system to help test the new
system before rollout. We have been getting very positive feedback from
various Local Chairman as well. Please share this information with all your
Local Chairman and all of your members. I have attached the help text which
can be found on the TE & Y portal. I see this as another positive step in
helping address fatigue.
