Concerning our Brother
Dennis Simmerman,
How do you know what to
say? Words cannot express how difficult a battle this has been for Dennis,
and how hard it must be for his family. It goes without saying that all our
thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. It hardly needs to be said
how much Dennis has meant for so many years to our Organization, and how much
he will be missed. I’ve known and worked with Dennis since 1981, and those of
us who have worked closely with him have deep appreciation for his diligent
dedication to our Brotherhood and its mission to protect and improve working
conditions for our membership. I always worried what we would do when he
retired. Right now I am reminded, as I was on Valentine’s Day, how life can
be cruel or sometimes cheats us and the ones we care about. This is really a
shame.

Brother Dennis Simmerman

area and CMS has been authorizing all requests for compensated time from the
Coffeyville – Van Buren area. Trains are going to be rerouted up through
Chickasha. They are working on getting some extra employees in place to
handle the reroute business. Right now the plan is to fleet in a northward
direction and then open up running trains south in the near future.
Again,
let’s keep the Brothers and Sisters in the affected area in our thoughts and
prayers.
