Message from the General Committee
Posted Dec. 2002
On behalf of the BLE Western Region General Committee of
Adjustment, welcome to our website. This site would not be possible had it
not been for the dedicated work of Brother Paul Short, member and President of
Division 676 in Nampa, Idaho. Brother Short volunteered an extraordinary
amount of his personal time toward this project and his efforts are sincerely
appreciated. Paul has created an excellent and informative site which will
benefit our WRGCA members and other interested visitors.
Although our website contains quite a bit of information relating to agreements
and work environment issues, the material available to our members will grow and
evolve as time passes. As with any meaningful project, additions and
modifications will be made from time to time, but the commitment to keep our
members informed and updated on current events, disputes, contract and other
issues, etc., will not change. We will endeavor our best to maintain an
informed and educated membership.
Collectively, we face many challenges that could ultimately decide the future of
locomotive engineers. I believe that an informed, educated and mobilized
membership is not only a reasonable goal easily within our grasp, but a key
mechanism to achieving success in protecting our interests.
It is imperative that we recognize the efforts of General Chairman Gil Gore and
his Southern Region General Committee of Adjustment. Their group long ago
created a truly excellent website that WRGCA is proud to be part of in
solidarity with the other Union Pacific BLE General Committees. Out of the
goodness of their hearts and in the spirit of unity, these fine brothers have
graciously allowed us to be a part of their project. From the bottom of my
heart, Paul and Gil, thank you.
Tim Donnigan - General Chairman, WRGCA
