RE:                   2006 IBT CONVENTION – OFFICIAL CONVENTION CALL

Attached, please find copy of letter dated March 6, 2006 from IBT President James P. Hoffa and General Secretary-Treasurer C. Thomas Keegel and the following items:

·        “Official Convention Call” addressed to the Officers and Members of Affiliated Local Unions, Joint Councils, State Conferences, BMWED System Federations, BLET General Committees of Adjustment and Teamsters Canada.

·        Convention Fact Sheet

·        Airline Discounts for Teamsters 2006 Convention

·        Guest/Retiree Registration and Hotel Registration Form

IBT’s joint letter reads in part as follows:

“The first document is the Official Convention Call.  The Call is required under the IBT Constitution and Election Rules.  Its contents must be made available to every Teamster member.  Please ensure that every member of your Local Union is informed that the Call has been issued and that every member who wants to review it has that opportunity.  You are encouraged to photocopy the Call, to disseminate it widely, and to post it conspicuously.  The Call will also appear in the March issue of the Teamster magazine.”

WRGCA has not included the “Delegate/Alternate Registration and Hotel Registration Form” in this mailing.  We will handle with WRGCA’s Delegate at the appropriate time when the process for determining who the Delegate will be concludes.

WRGCA (or GCA #900) has also elected to post the attached information directly to our website conveniently located at www.wrgca.com which is easily accessible to all its members.  In addition to posting the attached information on our website, each division is encouraged to post the attached information on their respective bulletin boards.

Please note that guests and/or retirees desiring to attend the 27th International Convention must submit registration form as instructed at the bottom of the form no later than 8pm EST, Friday, May 12, 2006.

If there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact this office.
